Letter to the Editor: Plum Lake Town Board not doing its job’

July 30, 2019

To the Editor:

The town board of the Town of Plum Lake is not doing its job and is failing in its fiduciary responsibility to the town residents.

The board has received a series of important questions from their insurance underwriter as a direct result of a claim submitted to their insurance agent for damage done to a town truck involved in an accident while being driven by a town employee. The claim was in the amount of $14,442.77. The town chairman, Will Maines, refuses to convene a closed session of the town board to discuss personnel issues and what will be the town’s response to the concerns raised by the town’s insurance underwriter.

They are jeopardizing the town’s standing with the insurance company and failing to do the job they were elected to do.

The town chairman must convene a closed session of the town board to discuss personnel issues and a response to our insurance underwriter ... now!
