Letter to the Editor: Reader concerned about downtown mural

July 19, 2019

To the Editor:

I’d like to know how the shirt shop on the southwest corner of Oneida and Chicago streets got approval to add a third story steeple to the building.

It almost obliterates the “Welcome to Minocqua” mural on the barbershop building on the Northwest corner. You can no longer see it as you drive north on Hwy 51.

After all the hoops Walmart was made to go through to gain approval for a “northwoodsy” looking building, they certainly missed the boat on this building permit.

The mural was a wonderful welcome to the town of Minocqua and can no longer be seen in its entirety.
