Gerald Sarenac

Gerald “Jerry” Sarenac of Minocqua died peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side. Jerry is survived by his devoted wife Elaine, daughters Jennifer (Jim) Bucklew and Karen (Shawn) Roehrich, grandchildren Elizabeth, Amanda (Brad), Jeremy, Jon (Raquel), Ainsley and Anika, and great-grandchildren Emilia, Azarias and Athena. Jerry is further survived by his best friend, “brother” Mikey Cirese and many dear friends. Jerry was predeceased by his adoring parents Walter and Adeline, and sister Shirley.

Jerry was born in Chicago and lived most of his adult life in the beautiful Northwoods. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and is proud that his grandson Jeremy is carrying on this tradition. Many will remember Jerry as a fantastic fishing guide of many local lakes and the Green Bay Packer’s #1 Fan. Jerry shared his memorable voice with many, to the tunes of Elvis Presley, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, especially Jerry’s lively rendition of “My Way.” Jerry’s greatest accomplishment was his love, adoration and sweet devotion to his Elaine. Jerry was a wonderful, thoughtful and kind husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend. He is in Heaven now with his parents and sister, and leaves family and friends rich in memories.

Visitation was held at Bolger Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life at St. Matthias Episcopal Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Erin Kirby.
