Helen Draeger Bauer
Helen (Ungerer) Draeger Bauer, 102 1/2, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 21, 2020.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1917 to Jacob and Anna Ungerer in Tomahawk.
She married Harold Draeger on Sept. 2, 1940. Helen and Harold moved to Woodruff in 1951 to help their friends establish Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church. She was the first president of the Altar Society and worked for the Woodruff Pharmacy for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold on June, 3, 1988.
Helen married Charles W. Bauer on March 15, 1990. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, son-in-laws Thomas Hoban and David Reimer, and grandson-in-law Phil Morehead.
Helen lived a very active life. She belonged to a coffee group. Helen loved to play cards and Bunco and was very good at them.
Helen lived the last seven years of her life at Milestone Senior Living in Woodruff. The family would like to thank all her friends, aids, and staff at Milestone Senior Living Center for making her feel at home and for the great care they provided her. The family would also like to thank her very special friend Marilyn for all the love and care she gave Helen over the years.
Helen is survived by her three children Mary Hoban of Lac du Flambeau, Nancy Reimer of Madison, and Michael Draeger of New Berlin. Eight grandchildren Curt Draeger, Chris (Shelly) Draeger, Bryan (Jodi) Hoban, Kelly (Joe) Lozinski, Kristy (Tracy) Deaton, Brenda Morehead, Nikol (Chris) Mellenberger, and Stacy Smith, 13 great-grandchildren Noah, Jacob, Ashley, Caitlin, Kadie, Kiley, Kenzie, Bailee, Emma, Luke, Alexah, Kamryn, and Andrew.
Helen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed.
Public Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
