Melvin LaBarge

Melvin “Buddy” LaBarge, age 77 of Lac du Flambeau, died on Monday, Jan. 6 at UW Hospital in Madison. Buddy was born on May 30, 1942 in Lac du Flambeau. He was owner and operator of LaBarge Roofing and roofed until the day he passed. He loved sharing the word of God and reading the Bible. He also loved to fish and hunt. He was married to Deanna LaBarge, she survives.

He is survived by his children Thomas Maulson Jr., Kevin Maulson, Charmaine Maulson, Melvin LaBarge Jr., Scott LaBarge Cook, Judie LaBarge and Shawnie LaBarge and by grandchildren Jedediah Maulson, Josephine Smith, Deanna Maulson, Daniel Chapman Jr., Dalton Chapman, Dean Chapman and Olivia LaBarge and by great-grandchildren Ethan Davids II, Axton Davids, Jedediah Maulson Jr., Jett Maulson, Jaxxton Maulson, and Jordy Maulson. Further survived by his siblings Perlina Sunn, Roseanne Sunn, Elvira Sunn, Bernard Sunn, “Squaw” Larson, Jerry LaBarge, Elmer Sunn and Elly Sunn and by many nieces and nephews.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents Harvey Sunn, Lawrence LaBarge and Pearl (Bucholtz) Sunn, and siblings Charlie Sunn, “Peewee” Diver, Aushaday LaBarge, “Shorty” LaBarge, Bobby Sunn, Cody Sunn, Harvey Sunn and Lorraine Sunn.

Funeral Services took place on Friday, Jan. 10 and burial was at Memorial Cemetery in Lac du Flambeau.

Memorial donations in memory of Buddy to Eaglebrook Church in Woodruff.
