Robert H. Wendlandt

Robert H. “Bob” Wendlandt, 92, of Minocqua and formerly of Manitowish Waters, Winchester and Deming, New Mexico, passed away Dec. 19, 2019. He was born Oct. 23, 1927 to Edward G. and Irene (Jahnke) Wendlandt in Green Lake County. He held various jobs prior to joining the Army Air Corp from 1945 to 1947 and served some time overseas in the Azore Islands. After leaving the service, he began a long career in the telephone business, holding several different positions, in a variety of locations in Wisconsin, Illinois and New Mexico, usually doing technical work. He retired from CenturyLink in 1989. 

He married Billie Burris in 1950, and she survives. 

He is also survived two sons, Douglas (Sue) of Marshfield and Larry of Bessemer, Mich.; a sister Evelyn; grandchildren Charlie (Jill), Scott (Allie) and Katie (Alex Radtke); one great-grandchild Emilia Radtke and various nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dorothy and Myrtle. 

Bob was a great tinkerer and fixer, always looking to figure out how something worked and putting it back together, often better than new. He loved working on electronic items of all kinds.
